Reon van Tonder has been hunting barefoot since he was 6 years old. His favourite animals to hunt are kudu and buffalo. He loves hunting with clients and is passionate about guiding them on a successful hunt. He especially enjoys sharing in the thrill of the chase and celebration after each successful hunt.
Elmay van Tonder takes care of the admin, lodge and other activities. You will meet their two children. Lané, who was born in 2011, really loves to hunt. JJ born in 2013 enjoys the BBQ and camp life.
As bow hunting specialists, Barefoot offers bow hunters a bow-hunt-only property. Rifle hunters have ample hunting opportunity on the various concessions and neighbouring properties. The quality of trophies harvested is an extension of the team’s professionalism, dedication and passion. The skinners, tracker and professional hunters are worth their weight in gold. The food is freshly prepared daily according to clients’ personal preference. The Chef, Emmanuel, prepares the best meals in the bushveld. Housekeeping ensures that your room is serviced daily and laundry is done. It’s a team effort to achieve a great Safari experience and African Barefoot Safaris has a formidable team.

The owner/PH of the farm is the most pleasant person. After having a bad shot he helped me for over 2 hours with his dogs to look for the warthog and we did find it. Just the best experience anyone can ask for from a bow hunting trip
This was my first time to South-Africa hunting. My experience was top notch. Reon will do everything he can to make sure you’re happy with the way the hunting is going. Back at camp the lodging is exceptionally nice and comfortable. Elmay makes sure you have anything you may need and always asks if you need additional things. Some of the best hosts I’ve ever had and they make sure you feel part of their family. 10/10 would recommend and send anyone I know here in a heartbeat.

What an amazing place! The food and accommodations are excellent. It is such an amazing location. I don't think I have ever felt safer on international travel; they pick you up inside the airport and drop you back off when you are done. Reon and Elmay and their family (they truly make you feel like family) really go out of their way to ensure you have a wonderful time. I highly recommend them!
